Calibration Technician

The Calibration Specialist supports Manufacturing, Research & Development, and Machine Maintenance by ensuring the timely calibration of temperature, ammeters, pressure gauges, timers, and voltage gauges for medical device manufacturing. This role coordinates calibrations to optimize service while minimizing downtime.

What will you be doing?

Calibrates manufacturing meters, including temperature, ammeters, timers, voltage gauges, pressure, and weight scales, following prescribed procedures.Coordinates and updates calibration records and procedures, ensuring shop standards align with internal and external audit requirements.Develops and maintains calibration protocols, frequencies, methods, and test ranges to align with ISO 9000, FDA, TUV, NARA, and internal audit standards.Conducts installation validations on new equipment per QI09132 and starts repaired or new equipment to verify operational readiness.Performs machine validations, including CNC equipment programming, recording test methods, results, and rationale per QI09125.Compiles validation progress reports for Machine Maintenance, Quality, and Manufacturing Managers.Determines required operating supplies and parts, crafting purchase orders and capital requests.Maintains calibration, validation, and remedial maintenance records in compliance with GMP standards.Serves as the Mainsaver Database Administrator for Machine Maintenance calibrations.Travels locally to vendors for repair parts and supplies.Maintains validation/calibration equipment per NIST standards.Updates control documents as needed.Leads special projects as assigned.

What will you need to be successful?

Associate degree in a technical field with three years of experience as a Machine Maintenance Level III technician or six years of experience as a Machine Maintenance Level III technician.Must provide own hand tools, including open-end and box-end wrenches, sockets, adjustable and pipe wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, Allen wrenches, and hammers.Forklift Driver’s License required.Building Partnerships: Develops strategic relationships to achieve business goals.Building a Successful Team: Uses appropriate methods to foster team cohesion.Coaching: Provides guidance to improve skills and problem-solving abilities.Decision Making: Analyzes data to determine effective courses of action.Facilitating Change: Encourages innovative solutions and process improvements.Gaining Commitment: Uses interpersonal skills to build support for ideas and initiatives.Leading through Vision and Values: Ensures organizational values guide decision-making.Performance Management: Holds self and others accountable for high standards.Innovation: Implements creative solutions to challenges.Building Trust: Interacts with transparency to inspire confidence in others.Proficient in PC usage, Machine Maintenance Databases, and Renishaw Ballbar systems.Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.Skilled in programming CNC equipment.Regularly required to sit and use hands to handle tools and controls.Occasionally lifts and moves up to 25 pounds.Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.Occasionally required to stand and walk.Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical hazards.Occasional exposure to fumes, chemicals, airborne particles, and extreme temperatures.Moderate to loud noise levels in the work environment.Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
