About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of our large, complex Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool. Our team focuses on physical verification, a critical phase in the semiconductor design process, which involves advanced computational geometry, complex data structures, and high-performance core infrastructure development. You will work on tasks such as memory management, concurrency support, and application-specific data storage systems that are essential to the performance and scalability of our tool.

What You'll Do:

Maintain and enhance a large, existing C++ codebase that includes both modern and legacy C++ code.Work on computational geometry algorithms used for physical verification in chip design.Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure product stability and performance.Implement and optimize data structures and algorithms to improve product efficiency.Contribute to the core infrastructure, including memory management, concurrency support, and custom data storage systems.Collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to identify areas for improvement and deliver high-quality solutions.Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the software to improve reliability and user experience.

What We're Looking For:

Strong proficiency in C++: You should have a solid understanding of both legacy C++ and modern C++ (C++11 and beyond).Aptitude for algorithms and data structures: You enjoy solving complex problems and can implement efficient solutions.Interest in computational geometry and physical verification: Prior experience or a strong willingness to learn is essential.Attention to detail in testing: You understand the importance of thorough testing and are willing to invest the time to get it right.Ability to work with legacy code: You're not intimidated by large, existing codebases that include older C++ constructs and understand the importance of maintaining and improving them.Collaborative mindset: You work well with others, are open to feedback, and thrive in a team-oriented environment.

This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

The salary range for this position is $126,100 to $227,000 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.  Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
