Now’s your chance. **The Opportunity** **Abt is seeking expressions of interest for mid-career (5+ years of experience) and senior (10+ years of experience) professionals in the international development climate change and forestry sectors, with experience and skills in climate change adaptation, nature-based solutions, community forestry management, land tenure, and community livelihoods. We welcome candidates who bring experience working on donor programs (e.g., particularly FCDO and USAID) within these sectors and particularly with experience in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Republic of Congo, Cameroon and Gabon. This call is for both full-time employment and part-time (STTA) consultants with experience in the following thematic areas:** + Local Development + Behavioral Change​ + Climate and Environment​ + Understanding of tropical forest land use sectors ​ + International trade in timber, forest risk commodities, including minerals, impacting forests, and related controls and standards ​ + Geographical knowledge and experience across the range of countries identified + Forest sector policy and legislative reform in Congo Basin​ + Ecosystem Services and emerging mechanisms and markets in support of these (forest carbon, biodiversity) + Community forestry + Conservation and sustainable land-use and forest management + Forest and climate governance and policy + REDD+ program development and delivery + Land tenure and resource rights + Local capacity building + Public and private sector finance for forest management and related programs + Participatory livelihood assessments and planning + Agriculture and agroforestry + Payment for Ecosystems Services + Gender, youth, and social inclusion + Civil society strengthening, advocacy and empowerment **Core Responsibilities** + Leading on thematic/ core components + Drive delivery of robust analysis and appraisal of shortlisted geographies + Strategic oversight of co-design process within selected geographies + Monitoring and reporting to FCDO + Assessments of local governance + Capacity building expertise + Working with cross-cutting themes + Use of knowledge management systems + MEL/effective methodologies **What We Value** Technical leads (8-10 years + experience), + Supporting project staff (5 years + experience). + Advanced degree is preferred + Experience working on FCDO programs + Experience working in the Congo Basin + Deep understanding of community forestry, active deforestation, capacity building, and land tenure + Management experience preferred for consideration of leadership positions + Fluent in French and English is required for all senior technical positions **What We Offer** We foster an environment where you can Thrive Your Way.
