Call for Technical Experts – USAID/Philippines, Save Biodiversity

This Opportunity:
Palladium seeks Technical Experts for
the anticipated USAID/Philippines Save Biodiversity activity focused on the
related issues of biodiversity loss and climate change, by improving an
enabling environment, strengthening key institutions, and leveraging private
sector investments and financing toward conservation, adaptation, and mitigation.
This 5-year activity will advance synergy of biodiversity conservation and
climate change mitigation and adaptation through the management of terrestrial
and marine resources to ensure a sustainable provisioning of ecosystem goods
and services improving ecological and community resilience.
Primary Responsibilities:
Technical Experts will be
responsible for technical contributions in any of the following areas: biodiversity conservation, climate
change, Nature-based Solutions, restoration, sustainable natural resource
management, provision of sustainable agricultural forest commodities,
sustainable aquaculture and fisheries, and private sector engagement, markets,
finance, and investment, climate and nature finance, ecological and community
resilience, gender, local and indigenous communities’ engagement. This position reports to the Chief
of Party and will support efforts to ensure that the Philippines Save
Biodiversity Activity meets service delivery goals, quality standards, and
reporting requirements.

Nature-based Solutions
Restoration
Sustainable Natural Resource Management
Provision of Sustainable Agriculture Forest Commodities
Sustainable Aquaculture and Fisheries

Key Competencies Required:
Established track record in relevant technical area in a similar context, and in the in the Philippines. Existing relationships with Philippines stakeholders a plus.
Previous work experience in Southeast Asia is strongly welcome.
Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders in the public and private sector, other donors, academia, and other key stakeholders.
Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English, and the ability to make technical public presentations.
