Job Summary
As the Camp Director, you’ll be at the heart of every adventure, overseeing both residential and day camp programs for Girl Scouts. From coordinating engaging activities that inspire confidence and fun, to leading an enthusiastic team, you’ll ensure camp runs smoothly, safely, and with plenty of excitement. You’ll play a key role in building a vibrant, supportive community while managing the camp’s operations and fostering positive relationships with parents, the public, and your fantastic staff. Job Qualifications
• A minimum of 3-5 years in management responsibilities and at least 2 years in a leadership role in organized camping.
• Ability to live on-site at the resident camp from approximately May 1 – August 30.
• Program design, training and facilitation skills.
• Ability to lead, organize, and delegate work.
• Possesses critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Be able to react in a crisis situation with a clear mind.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in budget management.
• Experience in supervision and management of volunteers.
• Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and overnights.
• Spanish/Bilingual skills a plus.
• Excellent leadership, management, and decision-making skills.
• High capacity to master and leverage data tracking platforms.
• Highly organized and detail oriented with a bias towards execution and action.
• Skilled relationship builder with a demonstrated ability to motivate and collaborate effectively across difference and across every level of the organization.
• A proactive team player willing to pitch in at all levels while also holding a big picture, systems thinking mindset.
• Exceptional written and verbal communicator.
• Strong work ethic with a high degree of curiosity and a learning orientation; someone who leads and operates with a high level of integrity, confidentiality and discretion.
• Be or become a registered member of the Girls Scouts of the United States of America; have a working knowledge of Girl Scout philosophy and programming, and be committed to the Girl Scout mission. Prior Girl Scout experience not required.
Special Instructions
Work Location: In person in Madison from Sept-April & Camp in Mindoro, WI from May-August
