Campus Activities and Engagement and Residence Life Area Coordinator
The Campus Activities and Engagement and Residence Life Coordinator is part of the Division of Student Affairs and serves as a member of Campus Activities and Engagement Team, reporting to the Director for Campus Activities and Engagement. The Coordinator has an ancillary assignment to Residence Life serving as an Area Coordinator. The anticipated breakdown is 75% Campus Activities and 25% Residence Life with on-campus housing and full meal plan provided. A successful coordinator will have the ability to maintain effective communication between the two areas while serving Campus Activities and Engagement as a primary role. Successful candidates will have a high level of executive function and a creative spirit to engage students in leadership development activities.
The Coordinator is responsible for advising and developing approximately 100 student organizations and their leaders registered on the Johnstown campus of The University of Pittsburgh. The Coordinator oversees all registration, tracking, administrative and development processes for registered student organizations and their advisors. Works collaboratively with students, the registered student organizations, and the advisors to provide co-curricular and inclusive campus programs for a seven-day campus experience.
Assists in the organization and development of student activities and coordination of special events. Advises student organizations and students on programs and services. Attends student-sponsored social events, monitors organizations' financials and performs reconciliations, and ensures compliance with all University policies. Publicizes student events, assists in developing promotional materials, and registers and monitors new student organizations and requests.

The person’s fundamental responsibilities include personal, on-site/on scene assessment of and response to event/ management, situations, crises, and follow-up; initiation and effective delivery of verbal and written communication; personal visitation of students in both private and public areas; planning and management of tasks and responsibilities; report writing and task/event administration.
