Campus Development and Construction Group Head | Central Facilities Management Office

Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Director of the Central Facilities Management Office, the Campus Development and Construction Group (CDCG) Head oversees the Planning and Design Section, Construction Management Section, and Post Construction and Building Care Section.

The CDCG Head contributes to one of the University’s strategic goal of providing sustainable and efficient infrastructure through global standard environmentally-friendly design, highly competent construction management, and pro-active maintenance services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

I. Group Management and Development

Keeps track of updates and developments that affect the University facilities Keeps abreast of the local and international trends, industry practices, and regulatory requirements related campus development and construction management Benchmarks industry and general community methods and practices to measure and evaluate campus development and construction management, and provides recommendations on how to achieve the Office’s goals Sets the direction and develops metrics for the Campus Development and Construction Group Oversees the development, review, and if necessary, updating and revising policies in the Group, and providing inputs for the development of general CDCG policies Monitors and reviews the Group’s processes, systems, and practices to ensure operational efficiency and effective delivery of services Manages the performance of the section heads under the CDCG by setting standards/targets, monitoring and evaluating performance, and providing development opportunities. Ensures business continuity by institutionalizing a succession plan for critical roles in the University Collaborates with the different CFMO teams to bring relevant and up to date information on client needs which were surfaced during the course of the Group’s work implementation

II. Campus Development and Construction

Serves as steward of the Campus Master Plan, constantly studying the campus space allocation, design and infrastructure standards, and proposes to senior management ways to improve campus architecture/infrastructure and conditions, integrate campus plans, optimize space usage for a particular objective, and address possible deficiencies in standards Serves as a technical advisor on matters such as, campus development, sustainable design (e.g., planning and urban design, architectural design, engineering design, landscape design, etc.), construction management, and stakeholder management Ensures the adherence to and achievement of goals set in the Campus Development Plans. Ensures that different clusters and/or schools are aware of any construction or renovation and improvements in the facilities and physical resources affecting their areas of concern

III. Representation

Represents the CDCG in internal University matters related to campus development and construction concerning but not limited to improvements on utilities, road networks, infrastructure, campus master plan and new structures Represents the University in activities and fora requiring the participation of the CDCG as instructed by the CFMO Director and the VPA like FMAS

IV. Perform other duties that may be required by the immediate supervisor and authorized representatives
