Our successful candidate will have campus dining innovation experience, excellent professional polish and will directly impact all culinary operations with oversight of culinary innovation, standards, and programs as well as supporting, training, and developing 8 executive chefs and their teams. Our leader will have experience managing up to a $30M budget bottom line and top line, be responsible for systems, programming and be a true leader who remains ahead of innovation and trends and knows what is important to the student experience.
Experience with brining new concepts to markets, Pop-Ups, Robotics, excellent computer skills, and putting the timeline into play for new concepts to execute in a short window of time. This role will be based in Albany and have oversight of two additional campuses, WOWing our students serving 7,000 fresh meals per day in 3 resident dining halls, with 2 catering kitchens, and 23 retail spread all over 3 campuses.
Focus will be on recipe execution, safety, and sanitation. The best-qualified Campus Executive Chef will be able to balance a strategic, program-driven approach with strong, hands-on, kitchen experience and the ability to achieve results through others. A critical element of the role is accessibility for the staff by being on the floor during service times and showing strong leadership ability. This position manages all aspects of back-of-the-house operations; including ordering, inventory, staff training, and development, and has a significant involvement in sustainability and local purchasing programs.
