About you and this role

We are looking for you, an ambitious master’s student in chemistry, to support our Home Care Technical Service & Development Team by doing an internship project in new sustainable products for cleaning formulations for laundry and/or automatic dishwashing applications in our location Seneffe, Belgium.

Project description

You will work on evaluating cleaning ingredients in laundry and/or automatic dishwashing formulations, with a focus on new sustainable ingredients. You will be responsible for proposing a methodology for screening these ingredients in a market-relevant scenario. You will be expected to adjust detergent formulations and test methods to evaluate Dow material performance for final consumers.

Responsibilities

Propose a strategy, including designing experiments, to achieve the goal of the project.Formulate detergents following safe laboratory practices.Run simulated performance tests and real application tests in laundry and/or automatic dishwasher.Evaluate results using the scientific method and prepare reports to ensure proper record keeping.

Qualifications

You are currently studying for a bachelor/master’s degree or equivalent in chemistry, preferably with a focus on Formulation, Colloids or Polymer Sciences.You have a good working knowledge of French and/or English.You have experience in working in a lab and lab safety is a priority.

We are flexible for starting date and internship period, 5 months or plus will be desired.
