International Risk and Control sits within International Card Services (ICS) which comprises of all the issuing functions across all 28 international markets excluding the US - colleagues operate across a variety of geographies and disciplines. ICS issues products to our Consumer and Commercial customers – the organization is an integral part of the global growth strategy for American Express; offering differentiated products and services is critical to our success and promises to drive significant growth and value through the delivery of innovative products, tailored to the needs of our customers.  

The objective of the ICS Control Management AEESA Legal Entity team is to provide specialized and strategic operational risk (OR) advisory specific to product and service areas, and we are looking for an intern to support an ensure control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our ICS business across AEESA (American Express Europe, S.A.) markets. The role will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies. 

You Will Be Working On: 

Support the ICS Control Management AEESA Legal Entity team by performing analysis and monitoring of key Risks, Issues, and Changes Monitor Operational Risk control metrics and provide metrics analysis Gain experience in assessing areas of opportunity to increase team efficiency that will lead to (i) enhance existing processes and/or (ii) eliminate nonvalue added activities Support on key initiatives and ad-hoc projects end to end Support AEESA Control Management team in the preparation and coordination of decks: committees, BURs, among others 

 

Desirable Qualifications/Skills & Experience: 

Analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tool

Duration: 6 months internship + with potential 6 months renewal 

Hours: 35 hours per week    

 

For Recent Graduate Students: 

Alongside your internship you will be enrolled on a programme coordinated by Fundación Universidad Empresa (FUE). This programme will allow students to focus on productivity, adaptive management and innovation, to apply their theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting, collaborating directly on the management and optimization of commercial processes. The student will develop essential skills in project management, data analysis, and negotiation, which are critical for future integration into the labor market. 

To enroll on the programme, the candidate must have completed the degree or due to submit the final degree project, or the final degree project plus 9 ECTS max.
