GCU’s facilities team is currently seeking a fulltime Campus Mail Room Supervisor. The Campus Mail Room Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the university mail center, ensuring efficient processing, distribution, and management of incoming and outgoing mail. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of the university’s mail services, fostering a productive work environment, and enhancing the overall campus experience.
What you will do:
Oversee the receipt, sorting, and distribution of all incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and interdepartmental correspondence.
Directly supervise, schedule, and evaluate 40+ student employees and 2 full-time staff members, ensuring productivity and adherence to policies.
Provide training and guidance to staff on mail handling procedures, customer service, and safety protocols.
Serve as a point of contact for faculty, staff, and students regarding mail-related inquiries and concerns.
Ensure adherence to postal regulations, university policies, and security measures for handling confidential materials.
Implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce delays, and improve overall mail service operations.
Assist in managing mailroom expenses, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory records.
Work closely with campus departments, vendors, and external postal carriers to facilitate smooth operations.
Maintain accurate records of mail volume, staffing schedules, and operational issues for review by the Mail Center Manager.
Other duties as assigned.
What you will need:
Three - Five (3-5) years of experience in facility management or related field required.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a mailroom, warehouse, or customer service setting.
Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to manage a diverse workforce.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and contractors.
Must pass pre-employment background investigation.
