Cancer Registrar Non CertReq #:0000172330 Category:Tumor Registrar Status:Per Diem Shift:Day Facility:Community Medical Center Department:Oncology Data Center Location: CMC Support, 99 Highway 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755 Job Overview: The Cancer Registrar, Non-Certified must select and abstract all cases of malignancy diagnosed and/or treated at Community Medical Center, cases with a history of cancer or cases of consultation only into the Cancer Registry Data Base for submission to the State of New Jersey under the supervision of a certified cancer registrar. Qualifications: Required: + High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred: + Certified Tumor Registrar Certifications and Licenses Required: + N/A Scheduling Requirements: + Per Diem Essential Functions: + Abstract and code cases directly into the computer + Answer requests for Cancer Registry information in the absence of the Supervisor + Answer requests for patient data information + Assists in case finding procedures (pathology report, chemotherapy, umbrella and radiation lists) + Attend Cancer Committee meetings in the absence of the Supervisor + Complete the NJ State Cancer Registry audits + Coordinate Tumor Board Conference with the Departments of Surgery, Urology and Pediatric Oncology + Initiates procedures to obtain current information on patients not seen by a physician for annual follow-up as outlined in the Cancer Registry procedure manual accurately + Maintains Quality Control standards to achieve target follow-up rates according to the American College of Surgeons requirements + Obtains and enters information on expired patients accurately and timely + Obtains survival status accurately as required to complete requests for data + Reviews, interprets, and enters new follow-up data accurately Benefits and Perks: At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
