Capability Lead - Systems Engineering & Product Performance

Indianapolis - Hybrid (3 days on site per week)

The Capability Lead - Systems Engineering & Product Performance lead, develop and engage Engineering personnel to meet current and future business requirements. In this role you will support definition of the product performance engineering strategy. Key Accountabilities:

Provide technical leadership & technical assurance of the Product Performance group; ensuring compliance to processes through the life-cycle, maintaining delivery commitments for the Programmes and Capability development activities.

Lead the Operational running of the function, representing the assigned group in the Global Capability organisation, through regular governance of Safety, Quality, Budgets, Capability Development, Risk & People competency.

Deploy assigned staff to approved business activities and technical programmes; confirming that staff are suitably qualified and experienced for both current and future business requirements, through a combination of competency framework tools, training, skill development and staff rotation.

Deliver effective Performance Management for the group; ensuring that employees have relevant and appropriate objectives aligned to both the Performance Capability, Programme objectives & Company strategy.

Drive forward the Capability Development of the Product Performance function in line with the overall Capability strategy and Business requirements and priorities, driving efficiency and the development of a Continuous Improvement culture.

Provide people leadership for the Product Performance group, including individual and professional development, Performance & Reward management, HS&E and Security

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor`s degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics with 5+ experience in thermodynamics, gas dynamics, fluid mechanics and/or engine design OR;

A Master`s degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics 3+ experience in thermodynamics, gas dynamics, fluid mechanics and/or engine design OR;

A PhD in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics

Proficiency in computer programming language such as FORTRAN, Visual Basic, and/or C++/Matlab

Preferred Requirements:

Experience in the performance-related support of the design and/or development of gas turbines

Simulation/modelling of gas turbine cycles, hybrid electric systems, cycle analysis, engine operability, sizing and/or preliminary design analysis

Has provided technical and professional leadership to a team of engineers and other management level personnel.

Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement.
