Capacity Building Specialist Department: NNAAC (National Network for Arab American Communities) Location: Dearborn, MI START YOUR APPLICATION (https://apply.hrmdirect.com/resumedirect/ApplyOnline/Apply.aspx?req\_id=3300791&source=3300791-CJB-0) Job Title: Capacity Building Specialist Job Status: Full-time (Hybrid) Functional areas/departments where this position may be located: - National Network for Arab American Communities (NNAAC) Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Capacity-Building Specialist is responsible for developing quality resources, programming, networking, and skill-building opportunities for NNAAC member organizations, providing customized assistance that responds to individual member requests and implementing efforts to increase membership. This position directly impacts ACCESS- mission by growing our national reach and playing a leadership role in improving the standing of the national Arab American community, and is required to deeply understand the vision, mission, programs, strategies and capacity needs of NNAAC members and develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with them. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Assist with creating and implementing opportunities for members to be actively engaged with NNAAC through monthly program webinar series, sub-committees, remote/in person networking and special initiatives or projects - Identify the needs of NNAAC members and connect them with resources they need to excel and proceed - Respond to requests from members and provide them with timely and relevant information - Support the execution of the annual Capacity-Building Grant using best practices of philanthropy and organizational development to help members increase their organizational effectiveness - Facilitate and/or support NNAAC sub-committees and their work - Strategize, recommend and develop new member programs and services for NNAAC based on member feedback - Develop and coordinate a process for member feedback on NNAAC programs and services, analyze data related to member growth, experiences, and use data to drive decisions, adjust based on performance and well-versed strategies - Work with the NNAAC Capacity Building and Strategic initiatives Manager, provide comprehensive support for the members and make recommendations for changes in services - Inspire the members to move together to advance the collective vision of NNAAC/ACCESS - -A just and equitable society with the full participation of Arab Americans- - Act as a liaison between members, ACCESS departments, and partner organizations - Maintain updated internal profiles on all NNAAC members, programming, capacity needs, advocacy activities self-identified goals of growth, their visions and our engagement with them - Identify funding opportunities for NNAAC members and support with the execution of the various annual NNAAC regrant processes - Support the planning and execution of special events for members that may include conferences, trainings webinars and/or reginal gatherings - Identify new NNAAC members and complete the membership application process in conjunction with the NNAAC Capacity Building and Strategic Initiatives Manager - Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: - Intermediate to advanced concepts, practices and procedures in non-profit management, philanthropy, and capacity-building, particularly in non-profits in the Arts and Culture sector - Grant writing - Related community resources providers - Processes, rules and regulations of various services and funding agencies surrounding the eligibility and maintenance of the services being received Skill in: - Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office Ability to: - Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives - Inspire confidence and passion in external audiences to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders - Be an innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and results - Facilitate meetings, ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas, and problems are addressed - Objectively gather information, identify linkages and trends, and apply findings to assignments - Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines - Manage difficult conversations with stakeholders and provide a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner - Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing - Interpret, speak, and write in Arabic, Spanish or other native language of the predominant service population is preferred - Maintain confidentiality of agency and client information Educational/Previous Experience Requirements: - Minimum Degree Required: o Bachelor-s degree - Required Disciplines: o Social Sciences, Non-profit Management, Business, Public Administration, or related field ~and~ - At least 3 years of experience working in a nonprofit organization, with specific experience in training, coordination, event planning, relationship building with community stakeholders and capacity-building consulting - Experience working with Arab American organizations and grant writing preferred - Any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources Licenses/Certifications: - Licenses/Certifications Required at Date of Hire: None Working Conditions: Hours: Normal business hours, some additional hours may be required Travel Required: Local, in-state, and national, up to 20-50% Working Environment: Climate controlled office START YOUR APPLICATION (https://apply.hrmdirect.com/resumedirect/ApplyOnline/Apply.aspx?req\_id=3300791&source=3300791-CJB-0)
