Amazon Books is seeking an experienced Books Risk Management (BRM) Capacity Planning Program Manager who demonstrates exceptional ownership and analytical capabilities. In this strategic position, you will lead the development and implementation of robust capacity models while creating and maintaining accurate forecasts for operational drivers and work units. As part of our global organization, you will collaborate cross-functionally with operations, training, product, finance, and science teams to assess and anticipate how business evolution impacts capacity requirements. The ideal candidate will optimize resource allocation to exceed customer expectations while maintaining cost efficiency.
The successful candidate will be an innovative problem solver with proven analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You should demonstrate a track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences and stakeholder management. Strong decision-making abilities in ambiguous situations and excellent risk assessment skills are essential. This role is based in Charleston, SC.
Key job responsibilities

• Drive strategic partnerships with stakeholders to achieve consensus on changes, serving as the source of truth for BRM capacity planning
• Transform and optimize existing manual processes through automation and innovative solutions to enhance scalability
• Develop compelling data-driven presentations and analytics to support decision making
• Implement and maintain tracking systems for capacity build-out and utilization metrics
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to establish and standardize best practices in capacity planning and management
• Create and deliver clear, impactful communications and documentation for diverse audiences, including senior leadership
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
