The key responsibilities of the role include:
Capital Markets RCSA Support, including:
• Data gathering (ASLs, volume changes, control breaks, etc.)
• Initial review of assessment or reassessments
• Follow up on identified issues or trigger events. Ensuring all activities needed to close out trigger events have been properly completed by 1st line
• Document challenge points before BURM review and approval
• Participate in RCSA process, partnering with 1st line control before BURM approval
• Build BURM RCSA reporting for Capital Markets
BU Risk Support
• Synthesize information from: Capital Markets Risk Councils, product and process risk committee, and North America Regulatory Forum, for BURM specific relevance
• Engage with 1st line of defense control on account servicing losses US $100k > and engage impacted BURM member for senior review
• Business Continuity data reporting and engagement
Support BURM’s Swap Dealer responsibilities. Including:
• collating and analysing data associated with the Swap Dealer RTLs;
• leading the annual review of the RTLs which includes liaising with the risk theme owners and heads of FX and IRD businesses. Present the information at the various governance forums for approval;
• Collect and analyse the Swap Dealer RUM data and produce the Swap Dealer RMUC materials;
• Provide support to the Swap Dealer RUMC Chair in meetings;
• Potential to expand responsibilities with a wider Swap Dealer RMP remit;
Capital Markets Risk Reporting:
• Key role in the quarterly BURM and Legal Entity risk reporting exercises for Capital Markets. This requires both quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
• BURM lead for the Algo Annual Self-Assessment Validation for Global Capital Markets. Present the findings at the various Global Capital Markets Risk Councils;
• BURM lead for the annual Securities Finance Loan Allocation Outlier Test utilising strong data analytical skills. This will be presented at the Securities Finance Risk Council.
• Drive data enhancement projects, with a focus on enhancing data sources and how these are analysed.
• Involvement in ad hoc projects both internal and external to BURM, providing bank wide exposure for the successful candidate.
• Synthesize information from: 1st line of defense council, product and process risk committee, and North America Regulatory Forum, for BURM specific relevance
Skills/Qualifications:
• College Degree Required
• 7+ years of work experience
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships. The candidate will converse regularly with both NT leadership group and senior staff, as well as facing the Global Capital Markets business partners on a daily basis.
• Strong analytical skills are key
• Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills required.
• Strong written skills.
• Knowledge of Capital Markets (or a business within Capital Markets)
• General understanding of Operational Risk and Compliance Risk Frameworks
Self-motivation and an ability to work with minimum supervision
• Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and with accuracy
• Ability to synthesize large amount of data and present in succinct bullets
• Inquisitive and enthusiastic approach to problem solving
