Capital Markets Sr Credit Officer

As the Capital Markets Senior Credit Officer, you will have risk management responsibility for assigned commercial loan portfolios including elevated leveraged loans and related products or services. You will be heavily involved in the leveraged loan market with many deals having tight deadlines and involving M&A, so it will be important to make credit decisions quickly and clearly communicate your rationale. Your responsibilities will include identifying key risks and proactively guiding the development of protective and balanced credit structures with knowledge of current market conditions, close monitoring of higher risk loans to ensure proper risk rating, and ensuring adherence to portfolio strategic objectives, credit policies, and all administrative procedures. You will work autonomously and will be recognized as a subject mater expert in this highly visible leadership role and will be responsible for supervising and mentoring less experienced credit officers. Primary responsibilities include

Credit structuring and approvals, approving credit within CAF authorities, guidance on structuring, problem loan identification, direct and monitor early stage action plans.Direct portfolio activities of credit officers within region.Conduct targeted customer/prospect calls to objectively assess business models and manage adequacy.Regulatory exam coordination and management as IT relates to assigned portfolios and related products or services.Board of Director presentations.Mentor and coach the less experienced line officers. Understand the business unit’s goals and objectives.Acquisition due diligence and transition management leadership role.Participate in portfolio reviews, review CQA reports, and participate in discussions with these groups as well as audits and regulators when needed.

Requirements

Minimum of 25+ years commercial credit experience, preferably in bankingExperience in Capital Markets including cash flow leverage finance transactions with sponsors and corporate borrowersFamiliarity with the pro rata and institutional markets. Experience with securitization products is appreciated however not requiredAbility to analyze a deal and articulate your view and rationale for your position to deal teams
