Minimum Qualifications

2 years of experience trading mortgage-backed securities (MBS)Experience in the mortgage industry Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing, Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including but not limited to, ability to utilize formulas, pivot tables, graphs and chartsProficiency with database querying via SQL or other experience with programming languages

Job Summary

As an MBS Trader II, you'll track market conditions to buy and sell mortgage-backed securities, create models and reports of trends and develop and maintains relationships with buyers. You should be proficient at hedging the pipeline and work to improve process efficiency and effectiveness. 

Responsibilities

Leverage loan and trade data in risk management system to develop a daily hedge strategyImplement the optimal hedge strategy to eliminate rate risk and maximize trade execution Monitor and maintain market data used for risk management decisions, best-execution and market-to-market evaluationAssess hedging strategy effectiveness through data and metrics, recommending changes to strategy as neededExecute buy and sell of mortgage-backed securities forward contractsDevelop and maintain relationships with new and existing broker/dealer counterpartiesDesign and implement process improvements to existing tools and workflowsMonitor markets and provide insight to internal teams and leadership on impact to the organization market Identify and correct operational issues with trades, loans and/or market data within the risk management platform Lead projects to drive process improvement and effectiveness to the risk management platform and/or trading strategiesMentor junior team members
