Responsibilities
As a Capital Project Engineering Lead in Process Engineering, your primary objective is to ensure the successful delivery of large-scale projects focused on process improvement, facility expansion, or equipment upgrades. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, coordinate project activities, and closely monitor progress. You will be responsible for managing resources, mitigating risks, and aligning project execution with business objectives. By fostering effective communication and collaboration among team members, stakeholders, and external partners, you will drive successful project outcomes. Your responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of leading Front-end Loading (FEL) projects, such as conducting feasibility studies, estimating costs, allocating resources, assessing risks, and creating project schedules. Throughout the project lifecycle, you will diligently monitor progress, identify potential issues or bottlenecks, and implement necessary corrective actions.

In this role you will: • Translate business objectives into executable scope of design • Lead teams of peers using project management skills to convert concepts to commercial scale plant design via FEL 2 Engineering Feasibility Studies and FEL 3A Technical Definition Efforts (TDEs) • Manage projects sized $3M to $500M with teams of 5-80 members with multi-functional and multi-national contributors • Complete economic analyses and sensitivity studies • Communicate project progress through reports and presentations to stakeholders across the corporation. • Embrace a continuous improvement mentality regarding project execution and work processes. • Act as a self-starter and self-motivator, troubleshooting and solving problems independently while seeking advice with minimal guidance. • Demonstrate a willingness and desire to function in a team setting, exhibiting behaviors that support overall company goals and objectives. • Actively participate in improvement teams, projects, and safety programs, adhering to and upholding Eastman Team principles.
Qualifications
• B.S. in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience • Strong background in team leadership and project management • Possess ability to influence without authority • Experience working on capital projects • Possess excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills • Able to accept and provide constructive feedback • Demonstrated commitment to safety
