The Job You Will Perform:

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the entire portfolio of capital projects (small to large). The Project Manager will lead project teams from inception to startup on Capital Projects.  Project Manager is accountable for the scope, approved budget and schedule commitments while insuring project performance goals are met. The role is required to follow established project management standards set by the IP Technology Capital COE. The Project Manager will be required to plan and coordinate large scale projects or several small to medium scale projects concurrently.  This position is part of the Capital Project Group at the Riegelwood Mill and will report to the ME & Engineering Manager.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Develop and execute plans for projects, including resources, costs, schedule, roles, responsibilities and quality as defined by the IP Project Delivery Process Build a cohesive project team and leadership necessary to maximize team’s success in achieving project performance goals Ensure that the detailed engineering drawings are developed by the Regional Engineering Office and are properly reviewed by appropriate team members. Specify and or review equipment specifications with team and work with Global Sourcing to ensure proper equipment bidding process is being followed Analyze quotation for equipment and installation contracts, recommend suppliers and issue requisitions. Ensure vendor submittals of drawings are completed in a timely manner and track equipment deliveries Manage changes to project scope, ensuring that all impacts and changes are approved and adequately coordinated Perform safety observations, complete contractor EHS Plans and conduct safety audits for suppliers and contractors. Work with IP Construction Manager to oversee contractors working on capital projects to ensure compliance to IP specs/standards, proven QA/QC processes, and site safety policies. Coordinate with IP Construction Manager and Production Managers for startup of capital projects Coordinate pre-startup safety walkdowns with project team, maintenance and operations Prepare QA/QC plans, checklists for startup etc. and coordinate startup activities with operations Ensure as-built documentation is developed and retained following start up Provide technical support to maintenance and operations on as needed basis

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

BS Degree in engineering is required 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer/Manager/Maintenance or Operations Possesses the ability to effectively manage several capital projects at a time Good communication skills with internal customers, engineering consultants and vendors are a must Possesses strong project planning and coordinating skills with a “hands-on” approach to problem solving Self-starter who get things done with minimal direction Must be a team player Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project Familiar with Auto CAD Strong written and verbal communication Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks 5 years of Pulp and Paper experience preferred 5+ years experience as a Project Engineer or Manager preferred Maintenance experience and reliability background preferred Working knowledge of SAP and Unifier preferred
