The Carbon Program Manager will shape highly desirable grower programs and acquire growers that will deliver quality data for the purpose of generating ecosystem products by understanding and applying knowledge of sustainable agronomic systems, ecosystem markets, registry rules and regulations.
This position is residence-based within the Midwest.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
Create desirable and high-quality grower programs that generate value for the grower
Drive end-to-end grower program delivery through understanding of the target grower, program design, and asset generation
Lead the go-to-market strategy, including actively driving cross-functional connectivity within an organization to deliver shared and best-in-class outcomes
Deliver strong grower experience from acquisition through enrollment, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor in regenerative agricultural decision making
Acquire growers through multiple channels, including co-marketing and incentives programs that create and/or build trust with the grower
Support strong connectivity and the ability to communicate and influence the North America commercial organization, including leadership
Travel to and present at in person meetings, conferences, tradeshows and other opportunities to create exposure for the program (approximately 25%)
Position entails driving a company vehicle (pooled or assigned to the individual). This may include being required to drive greater than 7,500 business miles annually in a personal, pooled, or rented vehicle OR being expected to frequently drive a pooled car as part of your job duties –regardless of mileage
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in agricultural or related field
8+ years of relevant experience
Direct experience working with growers and retailers in the agricultural industry
Experience in building, implementing, and promoting grower-facing programming
Excellent networking and relationship development skills
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs (a bag of seed)
Valid driver’s license. Driving record (MVR) will be reviewed (i.e. moving violations, accidents, license suspension, etc.) and must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree plus ten years of experience or Master’s degree plus eight years of experience in related field
Experience working directly with growers on sustainable agriculture decision making
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $115k to $170k. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..
