Cardiac Cath Lab Specialist III

The Cardiac Catheterization Lab Specialist III leads direct patient care in within the cardiac catheterization setting and enables cardiac catheterization processes and procedures through equipment maintenance and hygiene. This position closely partners with the healthcare team to provide advanced patient care during procedures, ensuring precision and adherence to established protocols for optimal patient outcomes.
Reviews assessments of patients' medical history and current condition to verify that the correct cardiac catheterization procedures have been applied.
Oversees the operation of specialized equipment and monitors patients during procedures, ensuring safety and optimal outcomes.
Coordinates the maintenance of a safe environment, adheres to universal precautions, and utilizes personal protective equipment to minimize risks and ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
Partners closely with the healthcare team, including physicians and technicians, to ensure smooth and successful procedures.
Provides patient education and support before, during, and after cardiac cath lab procedures.
Adheres to professional advancement program requirements, engages in ongoing education, and mentors others to promote professional growth and development to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field, leading to improved patient care and clinical expertise.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:Required: Associate degree in Hospital Administration, or another Allied Health Curriculum.
EXPERIENCE:Required: 2+ years of interventional cardiovascular or peripheral vascular experience and demonstrated leadership ability. (This requirement may be waived for individuals hired into and currently working in Cone Health?s Cardiac Cath Lab prior to this being a hiring requirement in 2008. If waived, must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
BLS (CPR) | AHA Health Care Provider BLS.ACLS must be obtained with in 6 months of hire.
Must obtain Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS or RCES) certification within 24 months of hire in the cath lab
