Responsibilities The Cardiac Department Educator will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of educational programs for staff across the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Cardiac Diagnostics, and Cardiac Rehabilitation departments. This role will play a key part in enhancing the clinical expertise and technical proficiency of all staff, promoting high-quality patient care, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The position will involve working with nurses, technologists, and rehabilitation specialists to provide continuous education, improve patient outcomes, and foster professional development across these interconnected areas of cardiac care. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Cardiovascular Technology, Exercise Physiology, or related healthcare field. Advanced certification or a master’s degree in nursing, Education, or a relevant discipline is preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration Registered Nurse (RN), Cardiovascular Technologist (RCIS or RCES), or Exercise Physiologist certification is required. Advanced certifications such as BLS and ACLS are required. Certification in Education (CNE, CE, etc.) is a plus. Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Diagnostics, or Cardiac Rehabilitation setting. Proven experience in educational training, mentorship, and clinical staff development. Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and interventional procedures in the Cath Lab. In-depth knowledge of diagnostic tools (echocardiography, stress testing, ECG), patient management techniques, and rehabilitation protocols. Effective communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate staff from diverse clinical backgrounds. Ability to evaluate staff performance, provide feedback, and implement targeted educational programs. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and patient safety standards in cardiac care, diagnostics, and rehabilitation. Work will be performed across multiple areas, including the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Cardiac Diagnostics (e.g., echocardiography and stress testing), and Cardiac Rehabilitation. Interaction with interdisciplinary teams in fast-paced clinical environments. Travel between Leesburg and Spanish Plaines will be required weekly.
