Cardiac Echo Sonographer

 

Under supervision, the Cardiac Sonographer utilizes high frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques for medical diagnosis. The Cardiac Sonographer must be able to produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data that are used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis. The Cardiac Sonographer must acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to render quality patient care including the injection of contrast media where applicable and institute life saving measures.

 

 

Minimum Education

Graduate of an AMA-accredited educational program for Diagnostic Sonography or equivalent.

Minimum Work Experience

Prior experience preferred.

 Required Licenses/Certifications

BLS Certification through American Heart Association. Registry preferred, or Registry eligible within 1 year of hire.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Demonstrates safe, knowledgeable practice skills at all times based on theory and consistent with Policies and Procedures. Ability to prepare dosage and administer IV contrast. Able to recognize abnormal structures and be able to correlate this information into a useful study. Ability to deviate from normal techniques, when necessary; to develop new techniques. Ability to utilize ancillary devices, i.e., selected transducers. Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills.

Pay Range: $33.32 - $49.27
