Position Description

The Monitor Technician is responsible for the on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors/remote telemetry and provides RN’s and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. Performs direct observation of biomedical electronic devise displays, reads, and mounts rhythm strips, and reports periodic or remarkable value changes as required. Provides indirect patient care to adolescent through adult patient population.

Position Requirements

REQUIRED

 

High school diploma or GED Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support Less than one (1) year of experience working as a Monitor Technician. Successful completion of a basic arrhythmia course or equivalent coursework with a passing score.
