CARDIAC MONITOR TECH - NEURO

PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Cardiac Monitor Tech is responsible for the ongoing, continuous surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes with monitoring leads off/issues and batteries low. 

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

Recognizes status for battery and leads and notifies appropriate staff as indicated. Maintain and keep accurate logs of interactions and phone calls Ability to multitask Communicates professionally with multiple levels of staff and maintains positive work relationships. Communicate in a timely and efficient manner Demonstrates accountability and commitment to coworkers.  Is a dependable member of the team. Shares monitoring activities fairly and coordinates breaks.  Addresses issues in a timely manner. Understanding of safety measures Computer skills Phone skills Organize and prioritize Other duties as assigned.  

 

Job Requirements

 

 

High school graduate or equivalent. Complete required organizational and unit competencies as assigned. EMT/Paramedic, or cardiac monitoring technician experience preferred. Recent position within the healthcare field preferred. Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, cardiac monitoring Excellent customer service, computer and communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Rotating shifts, generally every other weekend and every other holiday. Subject to change based on the needs of the department. Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day. Sitting/standing/moving about during working hours
