Cardiac Stress Technician-PD
Overview The cardiac stress technician will work under the direction of the on-site cardiologist, performing various clinical and administrative duties related to nuclear medicine stress testing. This includes but not limited to patient preparation, supervision of exercise and pharmacological stress tests. Job Details PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Travel between cardiology sites which does nuclear stress testing Preparation of patient for stress testing procedure Assess patient’s vital signs Establish Peripheral Intravenous (IV) access. Set up and monitor patient through 12 lead EKG stress testing including application of 12 lead and rhythm identification and interpretation. Gathers information on patient’s illnesses and medical history to guide the choice of diagnostic procedures for therapy. Assists in preparing intake charts (including clinical data, consent form, referral form, and authorization information) for patients prior to testing appointment. Application of ACLS algorithms when warranted under the direct supervision of on-site cardiologist including administration of resuscitation pharmacological agents, oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal airway placement and suctioning Assist in the preparation and tear down of mobile operations at practice site Responsible for maintaining non-nuclear medical supplies and equipment including but not limited to ordering non-radioactive pharmaceuticals, ensuring their safe and compliant storage, completing monthly inventory reports, maintaining defibrillators ensuring scheduled maintenance is completed and batteries checked, ensuring crash carts medical supply are stocked, inventoried and expiration date monitored. Respond to drug recalls as per established protocols Train and mentor new employees Participates in quality improvement/quality assurance projects Assures critical findings/results are reported per policy Interfaces with cardiologists and staff to assure flexibility and productivity of schedule Performs other duties assigned by CHPP’s executive leadership, the Chair of the Department of Cardiology and the AVP of the Cardiovascular Service Line Reports to the Nuclear Lab Medical Director, CHPP’s executive leadership, the Chair of the Department of Cardiology and the AVP of the Cardiovascular Service for clinical quality and accreditation. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Able to read/interpret EKG tracings Able to administer CPR when warranted Able to enter data electronically accurately and quickly Graduate of an accredited EMT program. Nursing license or an ACSM Certified CEP or Paramedic Certification ACLS Certification Salary Range USD $45.00 - USD $60.00 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
