AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking a PA to provide comprehensive care, support and education to patients and their families through all aspects of their cardiac surgical care process. The PA will participate as a key member of the cardiac team to identify and meet the physical and emotional needs of the patient. We are looking for someone who utilizes a collaborative multi-disciplinary approach to the patient/family's care, serving as an expert practitioner, educator, consultant, and researcher in the inpatient, operative, and outpatient settings.
This PA will split their time – 70% at the hospital, 30% in clinic.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts rounding on ICU patients and supports physicians with patients in clinic.
Functions as Surgical Assist for all Cardiac Cases, including support on TAVR cases.
Performs clinical examinations as necessary for outpatients/inpatients. This includes seeing new patients, consults and established patients.
Orders and interprets test results.
Expected to maintain responsibility for job performance specifications and assume personal accountability for departmental mission, organizational mission, and the core values of AdventHealth.
Functions as a resource person for individuals with questions regarding their diagnosis or treatment and coordinates the multidisciplinary plan of care.
Writes orders, prescriptions and discharge summaries.
Works in collaboration with other APPs and physicians using established and approved protocols as required by institutional policy.
Maintains thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
Effectively uses time, personnel, equipment and supplies to provide high-quality, cost-effective delivery of patient care.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Master’s degree (Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program)
1-2 years of cardiac surgical experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Certification by N.C.C.P.A.
Active physician assistant license by the state of Colorado or willingness to obtain one
