Position Summary:
The Cath Lab Invasive RT is responsible for monitoring of physiologic data received during cardiac catheterization performs the technical aspects of cardiac catheterization; and assists the physician during high risk and complex procedures. The Cath Lab Invasive Technologist designation requires that the technologist has attained competency in the duties required for Tech III, and that they have completed training to support complex Cardiac and Vascular Procedures in the OR, and are taking call in support of that service. Able to initiate emergency response to contrast reaction as needed. Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required by IR procedure protocols.
Education:
Must have completed Radiologic Technologist training and be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist. Also, must be registered with the Texas Department of State Health Services Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program.
Training and Experience:
The Cath Lab Invasive Technologist will have a minimum of one-year experience in Cath Lab. Proficient in interpreting EKG and hemodynamic tracings. BLS thru the American Heart Assocication required within 90 days of hire.
