Cardiology Department Secretary
Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Cardiology Department Secretary and become an integral part of providing exceptional cardiac care. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of service activities related to cardiac procedures, including the transcription of procedural reports, clinical data, and correspondence. Your contributions will ensure smooth operations and effective communication within the department.

Responsibilities

Patient Scheduling: Schedule patients for cardiac procedures, lab work, and office visits.

Transcription Services: Provide transcription services to the Manager, Invasive Cardiologist, and Cardiovascular Surgeon.

Liaison Role: Act as a liaison for the transfer of patients and patient information to and from other medical facilities.

Receptionist Duties: Serve as a receptionist for internal and external customers, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment.

Database Management: Maintain patient databases and filing systems for cine films and patient records.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Work Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of secretarial experience, with a background in medical transcription preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

Medical terminology preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Proficient in using computer systems and office software

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Additional Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and provide excellent customer service to patients, colleagues, and external contacts.

Physical Requirements

Mobility: Must be able to endure long hours of accessing the entire hospital for the delivery of records.

Physical Activity:

Stooping: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.

Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the legs and the spine.

Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.

Medium physical effort required, including lifting up to 40 pounds and frequently carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Sensory Requirements:

Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.

Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sound by ear.

Vision: Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more (far vision) and 20 inches or less (near vision).

Mental Requirements: Ability to perform effectively in frequent stressful situations.
