Responsible for all service activities relative to cardiac procedures, transcription of procedural reports, clinical data and correspondence.
ResponsibilitiesThe following is a summary of the major essential job functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time.
1. Schedules patients for cardiac procedures, lab work, office visits.
2. Provides transcription service to Manager, Invasive Cardiologist, and Cardiovascular Surgeon.
3. Liaison for transfer of patients and patient information to and from other medical facilities.
4. Receptionist for internal and external customers.
5. Maintains patient database and filing system for cine films and patient records.
QualificationsThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job.
Education and formal training: High School Diploma or equivalent
Work experience: Three (3) years secretarial experience with medical transcription background preferred.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required: Medical Terminology preferred.
Physical Requirements: Participates in creating a safety culture by optimizing safety at all times. Must be able to endure long hours of accessing the entire hospital for delivery of records.
Other: The Pharmacy, Nutrition, and Therapeutics Committee and Director of Pharmacy have approved access to medications and related supplies (IV fluids, needles, etc.), which may or may not include access to a secure medication storage area, when such access is necessary to perform the other duties included in this job description.
