GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for coordinating the inpatient and outpatient Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program. Defines strategies and services that facilitate a successful Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program. Coordinates the collective knowledge, skills, and clinical experience of staff from all appropriate departments and assures a multidisciplinary approach to affect desired treatment outcomes of rehab patients. Follows designed protocols and policies based on individual needs that restores patient’s functional capacity, reduces cardiopulmonary risk factors, and promotes behaviors that lead to maintenance of health and social independence. Ensures safe and appropriate monitoring, provides instructional activities that promote favorable health behaviors, and reviews the progress of each individualized plan of patient care. Initiates and provides services that are cost effective and safe. Understands and effectively reacts to the needs of patients of all ages. Supports the Mission and Core Values of the Sponsors. Respects and maintains confidentiality.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Required Education - Must be a graduate of an approved school of Nursing or Respiratory Care.
Required Certification - Current RN or RCP license issued by the state of Ohio. Must maintain current BLS and ACLS certification.
Experience - Advanced preparation in cardiology. ICCU experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities -
Ability to recognize EKG changes and abnormalities. Well versed in the recognition and job treatment of cardiac arrhythmia. Understands principles of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and can apply them to individual patients. Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
