Position description The NEW UCLA Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship is designed to prepare graduating radiologists to be independent and proficient specialized cardiothoracic radiologists. This field is growing rapidly with ever-increasing need in academic institutes and private practice. Please see below for the link to some Job postings. The UCLA enterprise has expanded to include several outpatient programs which offer advanced cardiothoracic imaging. The wide variety of cardiovascular and thoracic cases allow for trainees to gain exposure to various clinical settings and pathologies. 12 highly experienced Cardiothoracic faculty are actively interacting with multiple clinical sections, and through our interdisciplinary approach to disease, we intend to have the training fellows improve their independent skills and patient care. Thoracic training expands beyond routine training to include proficiency in lung cancer screening, ILD, and MRI. This fellowship also allows for hands-on experience with thoracic interventions including lung biopsies and ablation. Cardiovascular teaching includes the review of cardiac and vascular CT and MRI studies of all territories, including coronary, thoracic, abdominal, pelvis, and extremities. The program offers a high number of coronary CT angiograms on a daily basis and allows trainee to work with advanced image processing software. Our equipment base includes most advanced Siemens MRI and CT systems including Dual Source CT technology as well as 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners in inpatient and outpatient settings. There is an opportunity to have 4 weeks of elective rotation in another field, if needed, to prepare for future practice. We will be recruiting a total of 4 fellows for the 2026-2027 academic year.
