Matrix Providers is potentially hiring a Cardiovascular Technologist (Echocardiographer) to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families in Travis AFB, CA.
+ Employment Status: Full Time
+ Compensation: This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly.
+ Schedule: Mon-Fri 8-hour days, specific start/end dates may be adjusted to meet work center needs within the hours of 0600- 1900.

Requirements: The Cardiovascular Technologist (Echocardiographer) must have and meet the following:
+ Degree: Certificate.
+ Education: Graduate from a cardiovascular technologist program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) through the Joint Review Committee in Cardiovascular Technology (JRC-CVT).
+ Registration: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) as determined by the
Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
+ Experience: One year of experience as an Echocardiographer after graduation.
Job Summary:
+ Retrieves cardiology results from electronic based computer systems. - Will operate, enter and retrieve data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
+ Will complete end of day functions and prepare schedules/studies for next day workload.
+ Must be able to assist with the following procedures: Stress echocardiography (exercise & pharmacological), Transesophageal echocardiography, Exercise stress testing.
+ Provides echocardiography instruction to others in training and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
+ Participates in education programs and in clinical staff quality assurance functions and Process Action Teams as required
+ Performs cardiopulmonary laboratory administrative, maintenance, and support functions. Ensures equipment is calibrated to manufacturer's specifications. Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes (or prepares for sterilization) cardiopulmonary equipment. Operationally checks and inspects equipment. Adheres to infection control & universal precaution procedures, including disposition of contaminated materials. Practices safety & security measures.
+ Capable of assisting w/ the following procedures: Exercise stress testing, Radionuclide/Thallium Stress Testing Assist in Echocardiography in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab for various procedures
+ Capable of performing the following: Transthoracic echocardiography, Pediatric echocardiography, Electrocardiogram
+ Capable of performing the following procedure: Ambulatory Electrocardiographic Monitoring (Holter & Event monitoring).
+ Must be knowledgeable of general anatomy and physiology; cardiopulmonary system structures and functions; basic pharmacology; patient care theory, procedures, and techniques; medical terminology; aseptic techniques; medical ethics; resuscitation techniques; maintaining and operating cardiopulmonary laboratory diagnostic and therapeutic equipment; medications, and medical computer systems. (addition/basic requirement).
+ Must be able to perform and/or assist with the following procedures: transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, exercise stress testing, stress echocardiography (exercise & pharmacological), radionuclide/thallium stress testing assist in echocardiography in the cardiac.
+ Capable of performing other duties required within the HLVC to include administration.
+ Perform duties within the scope of practice determined by didactic, laboratory, and clinical technological education and registration.
+ Review and/or record pertinent patient history and supporting clinical data.
+ Perform appropriate clinical procedures and obtain a record of anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
+ Exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic services.
+ Perform a full range of cardiac diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
+ Operate equipment identified in the TO. Perform daily warm up and assigned quality control checks of the equipment.
+ Receive patients and explain procedures, providing humane and appropriate care and communication to alleviate fear of examination. Correctly position the patient for the examination and make adjustments necessary for the required examination.
+ Input key test data and patient information into computer of equipment to maintain record of test results.
+ Identify abnormalities during testing and determine the need for additional scans of affected area.
+ Recognize anatomic variants and determine which other area(s) of the body should be scanned.
+ Maintain and clean equipment on a regular basis IAW with MTF policy. Stock and maintain an adequate level of supplies required for diagnostic procedures. Recommend necessary repairs when diagnostic quality is degraded.
