Position Summary

The Cardiovascular Technologist II provides radiological and hemodynamic expertise required for Cardiac Catheterization procedures. This will include the operation of all related equipment, measurements and calculations, quality improvement and radiation safety. This role functions as first assist in the cardiac catheterization lab as needed.

What the Cardiovascular Technologist II will do:

▪ Operates radiological and hemodynamic equipment in Cardiac Cath Lab during procedures.

▪ Performs measurements and calculations for hemodynamic monitoring.

▪ Assists physician as scrub technician

▪ Maintains digital archive system.

▪ Monitor’s fluoroscopy exposure to assure safety levels are not exceeded.

▪ Participates in quality improvement programs concerning radiology and hemodynamic monitoring. Completes data

collection tools and analyzes data to make recommendations for improvement.

▪ Orders supplies when needed in conjunction with standards to minimize waste and unnecessary expenses.

▪ Assists with lab set up and tear down by setting up room and equipment for procedures. Cleans room after

procedures are completed and per schedule.

What the Cardiovascular Technologist II will need:

Associates or bachelor’s degree in science or related field. Preferred: Graduate of an American Registry Technology Program (ARRT); Graduate of a Cardiovascular Institute with RCIS, RCES Credentialing (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive/Electrophysiology Specialist). Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or within 90 days of employmentPreferred: ARRT certificationRCIS/RCES Certification required once candidate meets required exam criteria.Preferred: Two (2) years previous cardiac cath. lab experience and/or two (2) years' experience in special procedures angiography. EHR experience with Epic, McKesson HemodynamicsPreferred EKG certification. Ability to lift up to a maximum of 35lbs. and perform push/pull tasks that require a maximum force of 35 lbs.
