Cardiovascular Ultrasound Technologist | Cardiopulmonary | PRN | Variable
Overview PRN working varied shifts The CVU Tech I performs direct patient care testing such as Echocardiography and Arterial Doppler/pressures. Additionally, this position provides assistance to physicians, measures vital signs, and assists patients with personal care needs. Responsibilities Provides age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients Upon physician's order provides direct patient care services: Diagnostic 2-dimensional and M mode echocardiography with color flow, Transesophageal Echocardiogram, Arterial Doppler/pressures, Exercise/Dobutamine Stress Echo, Physiologic monitoring of Cardiopulmonary System (ECG). Based on patient assessment, notifies appropriate medical staff of any problems or concerns regarding patient care. Burns studies on CD and transmits patient data to GE PAC’s and Phillips with the ability to correct any errors Assists physician as necessary to provide support during invasive as well as non-invasive procedures Adheres to the proper procedure for obtaining, charging for, and returning supplies/equipment and maintains adequate supply levels through the use of accurate inventory control. Assists in orientating new personnel to the department policies and procedures and the environment. All other duties as assigned by department. Qualifications Education / Training Graduate Cardiovascular Technology Preferences: Echocardiography and Doppler Vascular studies with Stress Testing and ECG background Experience Requirements 1 to 3 years Performing Echocardiograms preferred Preferences: Echocardiography and Doppler Vascular studies with Stress Testing and ECG background Certificates/Licenses/Registration Basic Life Support (BLS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)- ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)- CCI Additional Information: BLS, provided by the American Heart Association (AHA), required within 30 days of hire.
