Job Title: Job Corps Career Counselor

Full-time shift with two late-day start. 

Salary-$28.00-$31.00 hourly 


Our organization is seeking an energetic and empathetic Job Corps Counselor to provide a wide range of resources to young adults. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong desire to help others graduate from the Job Corps program, and possess a counseling skill set.


Responsibilities:

- Provide counseling services to young adults in the Job Corps program

- Develop and implement individualized plans to help students achieve their goals

- Assist students in identifying and accessing resources to support their success

- Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive and supportive learning environment

- Lead group counseling sessions and workshops

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress


Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or related field

- Experience working with young adults in a counseling or mentoring capacity

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Empathetic and compassionate approach to counseling

- Knowledge of community resources and services for young adults

Requirements

Qualifications:

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree (including 15 semester hours of instruction in social services-related instruction). One year’s experience in a counseling capacity or related field. Must hold valid driver’s license and qualify for company sponsored vehicle insurance. 

Preferred: Minimum plus Previous Job Corps experience

Knowledge: Sound knowledge of counseling techniques, excellent communication skills, both oral and written, knowledge of characteristics and problems of disadvantaged youth, must maintain CPR/FA certification.
