Career NDT Quality Inspector - Night Shift

TrinityRail Maintenance Services is hiring an experienced Career NDT Quality Inspector for our night shift in our Fort Worth, TX facility!

As a member of the Maintenance/Repair Services team at Trinity, you’ll non-destructively test preventive maintenance, structural, and mechanical repairs. You'll follow appropriate procedures and diagnostic inspection for determining and approving work orders.

What you'll do:

Should have sufficient technical knowledge and skills to be qualified to set up and standardize NDT equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Ability to instruct employees on proper railcar maintenance activities using established NDT procedures and training materials  Ability to perform on-the-job NDT training and provide guidance of trainees and NDT Level I personnel  Have a strong knowledge of UT Shearwave inspection of welds to ASME and AWS CODE  Assist in the completion of all tasks to meet deadlines  Assist in the completion of all tasks to meet deadlines Inspect railcar qualification requirements, railcar repair, valve repair, and paint/coating tasks to ensure compliance with FRA, AAR, Company and customer requirements, standards, and procedures.  Have knowledge and understanding of welding and welding inspection  Perform complex troubleshooting and repair of NDT Equipment  Utilize basic hand tools  Accurately measure to specifications  Basic mechanical aptitude to read drawings and ability to use railroad gauges, testing techniques and test equipment.  Work from blueprints or other specifications/schematics  Ability to comprehend and quickly learn complex procedures, standards and regulations.  Follow all safety rules and practices  May be involved in safety committees or initiatives  Perform other duties as assigned  Ability to communicate technical information  Enter tank cars via a manway opening approximately 20 inches in diameter

What you’ll need:

The minimum requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent.  Previous railroad repair experience is preferred but not required.  Minimum 4 years of experience Knowledge of industry specific tests and test equipment Previous experience in quality control/assurance in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Working knowledge of computers, operating systems and Microsoft Office software (i.e., Word, Excel). Current Ultrasonic Testing Level II Certification and any NDT certifications as follows are a plus: Liquid Penetrant Test Method (PT)  Visual Test Method (VT) Remote Visual Test Method (RVI)  Individuals should possess documented classroom training hours and experience hours for the NDT method employed Ability to obtain NDT Level II certifications in accordance with TrinityRail’s written practice
