Your opportunity
 

Conduct research independently to formulate investment recommendations on individual securities within the International/Global (ex. US) Consumer sector. Experience in Communications/Telecoms is also desirable Careful consideration should be given to forecasted growth, competitive positioning, quality of financial reporting and management, and sector-specific trends and risks Construct models to generate pertinent questions to be answered in the research process, identify key drivers and forecast future revenue, earnings and cash flow Proactively undertake research visits/meetings to formulate and extend deep industry expertise, this includes engaging with a broad array of stakeholders such as competitors, customers, suppliers and other relevant constituents Compile and communicate research findings with Portfolio Managers through written notes, reports, and presentations. Ensure these communications offer actionable insights and include both macroeconomic perspectives as well as micro-level stock insight, particularly for the International/ Global ex.UK consumer sector Actively contribute to idea generation by staying abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements that could affect sector valuations and investment opportunities. Leverage advanced analytical tools and datasets to uncover underfollowed or undervalued stocks, with a keen eye on International/Global (ex. US) market opportunities Provide thought leadership on sector trends, investment themes, and portfolio construction, with an emphasis on diversifying risk and optimizing returns, specifically through deeper penetration into International/Global (ex. US) markets Participate in investment forums, conferences, and webinars to represent the firm’s investment philosophy and sector expertise, with the aim of enhancing the firm's reputation in the investment community, including its standing in International/Global (ex. US) investment circles The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, entrepreneurial in nature, and skilled at managing dynamic coverage responsibilities across multiple industries and countries Carry out other duties as assigned

Must have

 

Bachelor’s degree educated in business, math, science, or finance discipline Previous equity investment analyst experience required as a Global (ex. US) Consumer Analyst CFA qualified or willingness to commit to undertaking CFA required Strong stock picking skills, track record of positive investment results Ability to perform deep and differentiated analysis of fundamental issues in a compressed time frame, and to confidently recommend new ideas for portfolio inclusion and removal Excellent presentation skills. We value our collaborative, sharing culture Ability to build relationships of trust with a variety of colleagues. This role will support most of our equity strategies globally Knowledge of relevant sector/product/instruments for the role Microsoft office skills to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint Knowledge of Bloomberg and other market data platforms

 

Nice to have

 

Post-graduate degree such as MBA Industry experience highly desirable – brands, retail, media, ecommerce

 

Investment areas

 

Responsibility for supporting equity portfolios across a variety of strategies, as a member of JH’s global centralized research team
