Tabula is led by a highly-experienced senior management team drawn from blue-chip global investment banks and asset managers, specialising in investment management with deep experience in ETFs.  CEO MJ Lytle and Chief Commercial Officer Stefan Garcia previously played key roles in building Source ETFs into a US$25 billion AuM firm before its acquisition by Invesco in 2017.

Tabula has developed an institutional-grade investment management and ETF business, with funds listed across major European exchanges, passported into 15 European countries, and supported by over 30 leading market makers.

 

This role is office based at Tabula, a Janus Henderson Company and hybrid working does not apply. Tabula is a London-based asset manager who offers a growing range of differentiated UCITS ETFs and funds to European institutional investors.

 

Your opportunity

 

The candidate for the Senior ETF Sales/Client Coverage position covering Germany & Austria will be an entrepreneurial and experienced salesperson willing to join the Tabula team based in London. The candidate should have experience building client relationships with asset managers, private banks, wealth managers, family offices, institutions including pension funds, insurance companies, foundations, endowments and wealth platforms in Germany and Austria. The candidate will have 7-10 years’ direct sales experience with an excellent track record of developing a diversified client base and raising significant assets in the target geography and client segments.  The candidate should value the opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial environment where each team member’s contribution is visible and rewarded. The dynamic of covering clients for ETFs blends elements of buyside and sellside sales.  The range of products on offer will increase significantly over time, and will include active ETFs managed by Janus Henderson. The candidate will need to continue growing their client base in order to diversify the existing client base.  Fixed income and equities product knowledge is a must, and commodities knowledge is likely to prove useful.  The candidate should also have an understanding of UCITS funds, how they are constructed and maintained.  It is important that the candidate is dynamic, flexible and capable to work in a relatively small team and with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.  The candidate will need to work closely with the existing Janus Henderson Germany & Austria sales team focused on active mutual funds in order to cover clients in a highly-coordinated manner. The successful candidate will act with integrity and in a fully compliant manner with respect to regulatory and policy frameworks.

 

You will:
 

Develop a client base in the agreed target client segments; Prepare a business plan for covering the client base (to be reviewed with senior management); Frequent travel to client meetings in Germany & Austria; Be the key point person for all client and prospect queries throughout the sales and marketing process; Track client activity (meetings, calls, emails) in order to discuss progress toward objectives and need for further resources to achieve agreed outcome; Educate clients about Tabula’s funds in order to broaden and deepen the investor base; Identify marketing investments required to support the business; Review client presentations and stay on top of all new product developments; Provide feedback on products with respect to appetite in the target client base; Operate within a compliant framework and adhere to corporate and regulatory standards; Identify operational hurdles to covering the intended client base; and Ad-hoc special projects to support the development of the business.

Must have skills

 

A first-class academic background;  7-10 years’ experience in financial services/asset management sales;  A strong understanding of the European ETF market; and Fluent speaker of English and German. Strong, clear and precise verbal and written communication skills; Self-driven, quality and results-oriented with an ability to work well under pressure; Strong team player with effective interpersonal skills as required to interact with colleagues across various levels within and outside the firm; Robust lead management, time management and follow-through; and Comfort with handling confidential and sensitive information.
