Job Summary:
Acting as a true business partner for the Organization, the Controller provides leadership and coordination in all financial processes of Carmeuse Systems in partnership with the Accountant. The position aims at developing the use of the ERP, implementing robust and harmonized financial analysis, and subsequently at tracking/challenging projects financials. The Controller collaborates with the Director of Finance and the broader Carmeuse Systems team to maximize value creation.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Business monitoring, planning and analysis
• Is responsible for properly and timely analysis and submission of financials (month-end, year-end close) and provides required instructions to the Accountant
• Leads and manages implementation, maintenance and improvement of solid and harmonized reporting, controlling and planning processes and tools
• Monitors business performance, cash-flow, operating results and costs through KPIs, financial and technical analysis (using Dynamics, P&L, Timesheets and Cost calculation).
• Leads and controls cost allocation per project (WIP, Payroll allocation,...)
• Performs ad-hoc analysis per project and highlights the causes for variances against forecast/budget.
• Takes initiative to provide regular reporting and recommendations for business improvement in general and implementation of best practices.
• Works with Sales and the Leadership Team to establish yearly Forecast and Budget
• Monitors and manages cash flow globally and per project (AP, AR)
• Liaises with Group Finance, IT and software supplier to discuss and resolve problems
• Cooperates in the yearly bookkeeping control, invoices control and audits
Tax Analysis and Reporting, Insurance
• Provincial and Federal sales tax filings and remittances.
• GST/HST filings and remittances.
• Workers’ compensation reporting to Ontario and British Columbia.
People Management
• Develops a strong and efficient collaboration with Accountant, Project Managers, Sales, HR, Shop and CAM HQ (Finance, Tax and Legal).
• Uphold all company policies, procedures and best practices.
• Comply with Carmeuse ISO requirements.
• Ensure and enforce compliance to all company, client and legislated Safety policies and procedures.
• Any additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
• 5 to 10-year experience in finance, controlling and general accounting
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Other Business Related Degree
• CPA/CMA or Other Similar Professional Certification (Preferred)
• Solid knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory rules
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Work environment
• Typical hours: 37.5 hour work weeks – hours vary due to work. Additional hours may be required.
