JOB SUMMARY
As a Maintenance Carpenter, you are a member of the TMG Maintenance Team. You will conduct business according to the details of your job description and the TMG manual, making the customer our # 1 priority. This job description will give you a guideline to ensure your success in your position. TMG is committed to customer and employee satisfaction. It is a business necessity to maintain our competitive advantage by providing outstanding customer service. In light of business demands, we may change or alter some of the responsibilities of this position. This position will provide all phases of carpentry and/ or electrical repairs and or installation to all divisions of TMG.
ORGANIZATIONAL MANDATES:
+ The Carpenter must be physically able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and able to lift 70 lbs.
+ The Carpenter must be to properly use a wide variety of hand tools in a safe and appropriate manner following all policies and procedures.
+ The Carpenter must properly and safely use a wide variety of electrical/battery-operated tools and testers in a safe and appropriate manner following all policies and procedures.
+ The Carpenter must be able to complete daily tasks assigned by the manager/supervisor on a whiteboard.
+ The Carpenter must be able to complete any carpentry installation assigned, in a safe and appropriate manner following all policies and procedures.
+ The Carpenter must be able to perform any carpentry tasks in a safe and appropriate manner following all policies and procedures.
+ The Carpenter must be able to practice workplace safety at all times.
+ The Carpenter must be able to complete any reasonable request assigned by the manager.
+ The Carpenter must be able to hold a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicles properly with trailers and plow the property properly.
SUCCESS FACTORS:
+ The Carpenter will be successful if they are able to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and construction plans to determine materials, dimensions, and layout.
+ The Carpenter will be successful if they are able to measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials (wood, metal, fiberglass, etc.) according to specifications.
+ The Carpenter will be successful if they are to construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures, such as frameworks, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, cabinets, furniture, and more within the respectful timeline
+ The Carpenter must be able to collaborate with project managers, designers, and other team members to ensure projects are executed accurately and efficiently.
+ The Carpenter will be successful if they are able to operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
+ The Carpenter will be successful if they are able to adhere to building codes, safety guidelines, and regulations during all phases of construction.
+ The Carpenter will be successful if they are able to assist in estimating project costs and materials required for each project.
+ The Carpenter will be successful if they are able to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during construction or renovation processes.
+ The Carpenter will be successful if they are able to maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
+ The Carpenter will be successful if they are able to continuously stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and materials to improve skills and knowledge.
+ The Carpenter will be successful if they are able to plow the properties properly with no property damage.
+ The Carpenter will be successful when they are able to complete the reasonable tasks requested by the Manager.

+ The Carpenter must possess the ability to complete multiple projects according to plans and specifications
+ The Carpenter must be able to always work with a team and recognize behavioral/personality differences.
+ The Carpenter must be able to read and understand requests made by the Maintenance Manager and Operations Managers.
+ The Carpenter must be able to handle the fast-paced environment of maintenance.
+ The Carpenter must be able to practice and promote a safe working environment.
+ The Carpenter must be able to maintain a positive outlook throughout the entire workday to achieve daily goals.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Equivalent certification in carpentry from a technical school and/or training, equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Must possess and hold a valid New York State Driver’s License.
+ Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role within the [construction/woodworking/renovation] industry.
+ Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as woodworking machinery.
+ Solid understanding of carpentry techniques, materials, and joinery methods.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
+ Strong mathematical skills for measuring, calculating dimensions, and layout planning.
+ Excellent attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
+ Physical stamina and manual dexterity to handle physically demanding tasks.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing project needs.
+ Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
+ Safety-conscious mindset and knowledge of construction-related safety protocols.
