Job Overview Under the direction of the JOCC Construction Manager or Superintendent, performs a wide range of carpentry tasks. Tasks include wood/metal wall framing, installation of sheetrock, finishing of sheetrock, installation of commercial doors and hardware, sanding and painting of sheetrock walls, insulation, painting and/or staining of millwork, installation of ceiling grid and tiles, and other general carpentry repair tasks. Work Model: Onsite Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Performs maintenance, repairs, and new construction work on items such as foundations, concrete form work, interior walls, exterior walls, all types of exterior siding, all floor covering, sub-floors, catwalks, commercial doors/frames, windows, partitions, sheetrock hanging-finishing, painting, millwork installation, ceiling grid/tile installations and all other building components as necessary. Plans and lays out work from blueprints, drawings, models and verbal and written instructions. Uses a variety of hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments. Plans, organizes work and meets all deadlines. Able to do a variety of tasks in any single day. Coordinates with other trade and warehouse personnel in the identification of proper and correct materials, parts assemblies and requirements for a variety of requisitions necessary for the job/task. Respond to emergency site maintenance as required. Inspects and diagnoses problems to determine corrective repairs. Performs periodic stock inventories and prepares material requisitions for replacement items. Uses a variety of hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments. Operates Government or company-owned motor vehicles and/or other equipment. Performs various lower classified duties such as (but not limited to) file maintenance, workspace cleanup, maintain warehouse space and telephone answering as required. Assists and supports other trade groups and/or department staff in daily operations. Adheres to the company safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures. Ability to complete tasks utilizing a written schedule. Understands air quality standards and how to apply them. Ability to work alternate shifts as required. Ability to travel out of state/country to a maximum of 25%. Performs a wide range of construction activities and other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: High school graduate or equivalent GED. A minimum of Five (5) years of experience in commercial carpentry trade performing tasks associated with job summary and duties. Familiarity with basic mathematical functions is required. Experience using hand and power tools. General knowledge of air quality standards. Familiarity with applicable codes and standards. Ability to perform assigned work tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations. U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain and maintain the required level security clearance. Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen. Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds.
