ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an immediate, full-time opening for an experienced Carpenter for ASM Global/David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The candidate will Perform journey-level work in design, construction and repair of the physical facilities and execution of event related setup at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. Maintains in good working condition all facility equipment by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintain architectural and structural elements of the building that include but not limited to: doors, hinges, handles, closers, drywall, ceilings, glazing, insulation, signs, carpet, flooring, concrete, exterior skins of the building.Install or repair of pipe and drape in exhibit halls, concourses, meeting spaces, etc. Install show items such as pipe and drape, banners, signs, etc.Install, maintain, and repair building architectural elements, equipment and fixtures. (Staging elevated seating, food service equipment, mechanized equipment, vacuum cleaners, etc.)Receiving, tracking, completing work order via the Altum CMMS and Ungerboeck EMS software systems.Repair and/or build cabinetry, benches, desks, partitions for facility, event and food service needs as necessary.Locksmith services as required to service event, security, and building needs. Include maintaining accurate and detailed records of keys, cutting new keys, changing cores, etc.Research, price and order supplies as needed. Ability to generate bill of material for maintenance & projects, obtain competitive pricing from approved vendors or contractors. Submit PO requisitions for approval to purchasing personnel.Maintain stock of frequently used materials and items.Capable of building structures for events or building needs.Perform visual inspections of building and notify the appropriate personnel of repairs needed as well as completing the repairs.Maintain Carpenters shop cleanliness and machine maintenance and safety.Complete employer required training for the purpose of maintaining current knowledge of job, rules, regulations and safety policy and procedure. Use an expert working knowledge of power tools such as saws and drills along with hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, hacksaws, drill press, planer, sander, hammer drill.Read and understand blueprints and technical diagrams.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications
5 years’ experience working as a carpenter, with building operations preferred.Excellent organizational, prioritizing, and multitasking abilities.Basic Computer SkillsStrong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to interact well with all levels of staff, clients, and the public.Critical thinking skillsAbility to clearly instruct others on processesAbility to determine materials, equipment, and tools needed to complete assigned jobs.Ability to follow blueprints, schematics, and building plans.Professional appearance, presentation, and work ethicSkills and Activities Contributing to Job Success:
