Job Summary:  Briefly describe the major purpose or objective of the job.

The Carpenter will install, maintain, and repair all wood fixtures, walls, flooring, ceiling, doors, locks, hardware, keys, and trim at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC).

Essential Duties:  Essential duties are those basic duties that must be performed to carry out the purpose of the job.

1. Assemble, install, and maintain all wood fixtures, walls, floors, ceiling, doors, locks, hardware, keys, trim.

2. Repair or replace all wood fixtures, walls, floors, ceiling, doors, locks, hardware, keys, and trim using hand tools/power tools.

3. Work from ladders, scaffold, power lifts and roofs.

4. The Carpenter can be asked to conduct safety inspections of the building and certain safety related equipment.

5. Perform all other maintenance duties given by supervisor, when required to maintain the integrity and safety of the facility. (Non-Carpentry) Ex: unstop plumbing fixtures and lines or replace lamps.

Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):

A minimum education level of: High School Diploma/GEDYears of related work experience: TwoWork swing shift, weekends, and holidays.Lift 25 lbs. or more.Have own hand tools.3 years Wood Working

Additional Comments: 

This is an onsite position that requires in-person collaboration with multiple departments and coverage of events from start to finish. This position must be available to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business or event needs.
