About the Position: Sierra Army Depot located in Herlong CA. Employees work a 4/10 work week, Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and daily childcare available. Responsibilities Dispose of hazardous materials removed from construction projects in accordance with written instructions. Operate industrial woodworking machinery such as band saws, scroll saws and drill presses to construct wooden structures in accordance with specifications. Measure layouts to construct concrete forms to prepare for concrete projects. Install studs in proper location according to sketches or blueprints. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Carpentry Worker (Motor Vehicle Operator) (Direct Hiring Authority) ~ without more than normal supervision to include constructing items such as wood structures, select lumber, make cuts in accordance with blueprints, drawings or sketches; use hand and power tools such as power saws, nail guns, power sanders, and routers. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort-The incumbent works on ladders and scaffolds which require working in cramped or awkward positions. Considerable standing, stooping, bending and arm movement is required, depending on work assigned, may lift and carry items that weigh about 45 pounds. Working Conditions-Work is performed both inside and outside and in varied climatic conditions. The incumbent is subject to cuts and bruises, rails from ladders/scaffolds, loud noises, dust, dirt, injury from flying splinters and chips and from lifting heavy pieces of lumber or equipment. The use of protective devices reduces the danger from cited conditions. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
