Carrier Access Management Director

Position Overview 

The Carrier Access Management Director will work closely with operations, engineering, and the product team to drive improvement in the financial P&L. The position needs to be able to take general direction and guidance as it relates to costing projects. This individual will be hands on partnering with various segments of the business determining which project take priority based on a variety of factors influencing the decision from capital, labor, realistic quantitative and qualitative variables that drive these projects for the greatest gain for the business.

The Carrier Access Management Director is responsible for managing buy-side relationships, renewals, and lifecycle management. These relationships include Fiber Network Providers and Colocation Providers. The Carrier Access Management Director will serve as a point of contact for securing the lowest total cost of ownership between FiberLight and its vendors and will work closely with operations, engineering, and sales to determine areas of improvement. 

 

Essential Job Functions

Identify and manage cost saving initiatives through audits, optimization, consolidation eliminating or reduce cost. Complex project management includes financial models, inventory management/consolidation and ability to communicate across various verticals (engineering, ISP, OPS, provisioning, and finance).Assist with lifecycle management of various equipment platforms and financial modeling for consolidation plans.Ensure all documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately in internal systems and databases to support the proper billing, forecasting, and vendor relationships to stay within contract obligations. Responsible for quoting, ordering and implementation of all Type 2 circuits/dark fiber, colocation projects. Serve as an escalation point for installation dates, contract disputes and vendor obligations. Ability to apply a practical, business focused perspective while evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of processes from an operational standpoint. Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership accomplishing new and different requests while exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Responsible for QBRs including SLA matrix on quoting, delivery intervals, outages, billing, etc. Participate with ILEC/CLEC vendor management developing and managing SLA/NDA’s, costing and performance reporting. 

 

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years in a challenge audit, analytics, operations, or business consulting. Ability to evaluate business processes, control structures, and the effectiveness of the controls.Product knowledge of Dark Fiber, E-Access, E-NNI, IP, Wavelength, Spectrum, and next-gen services as well as associated end-user and carrier applicationsMust understand colocation, meet-me rooms, carrier hotel and cross connect ordering and documentation. Operational understanding of telecommunications ordering, provisioning, and billing processesAbility to get up to speed quickly on new concepts or projects. Extraordinarily strong interpersonal, organizational, and especially communications skills to solve complex orders. Competent multitasker, juggling numerous balls without letting any drop and executing at the highest bar you have for yourself. Experience with financial models and analysis related to sales opportunities, i.e., ROI, IRRExemplary organizational and communications skillsIntermediate Skills minimum Microsoft Office applications, Salesforce, and mapping software such as ESRI or Google maps.BA, BS Business/Marketing/Management, or equivalent industry or military experience
