Job Description

Scope of Position:

This position will require dispatching of pickup’s and deliveries to and from Nova Carson for the LAX and surrounding areas. 

This position will require timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the cartage department.

The position will require phone and email communication with Expeditors employees, trucking companies, and other strategic service providers.

Position Schedule:  Monday - Friday – 7am to 4pm

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

Handle dispatching of all products for LAX BranchCarry out effective tracking and tracing and monitoring of all pickups and deliveries for all products  Provide proactive communication with our internal and external customers to meet pickup and delivery needs.Ensure timely pickup and delivery for all shipmentsManage workflow and dashboardsFollow up on delays and exception coding and reportingEnsure accurate and timely data entryContribute to maintain good relationships with internal and external customers as well as service providers  Work with product to meet service times and special customer requirements

Physical Demands

Use of standard office equipment - computer with keyboard and mouse, phone, fax/copy/scan machine, etc.  Write with pencil/pen/marker Functions performed primarily while seated at desk

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

High School Degree or equivalent requiredSuccessful candidates must pass a background checkMust be legally authorized to work in the United StatesMust not require future sponsorship for employment visaFluent in English, both written and verbalMust have the ability to work overtime in support of the department’s needsMust be able to commute to the city of Compton, CAComfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skillsComfortable working in a professional business environment.

The wage for this position is $19.50-$22.50 per hour.
