CASAC T/SUBSTANCE ABUSE SPECIALIST

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct substance abuse assessments for program participants. Co-facilitate substance abuse education and support groups. Provide education on substance use, recovery, and harm reduction strategies. Respond to crisis situations involving substance use within the program. Attend monthly treatment team meetings and ACS conferences. Coordinate and facilitate referrals to community substance abuse treatment providers. Attend intake appointments for youth enrolled in external treatment programs. Maintain communication with external providers to track youth progress. Engage parents in the treatment process and provide training on drug testing methods. Collaborate with Group Leaders to develop individualized substance abuse programming. Assist youth in creating relapse prevention plans. Provide ongoing substance abuse training to staff during team meetings. Identify and integrate educational materials (workbooks, documentaries, etc.) into programming. Maintain thorough documentation of all interactions, including group sessions, individual meetings, and provider communication. Perform additional duties as assigned.WORKING CONDITIONS:
A residential and office setting working with juveniles. Employees must be able to work effectively and efficiently within a demanding work environment.SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

High School Diploma or GED required. CASAC-T certification required. Prior experience in substance abuse treatment required. Experience working in a residential setting is preferred. Strong computer proficiency. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
