THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Cash Room Attendant is responsible for assisting all cash-handling activities, ensuring accurate accounting, safeguarding funds, and maintaining detailed records. This role plays a crucial part in supporting daily operations by preparing cash for staff, balancing funds, and adhering to company policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Cash Management: Count and verify cash deposits and reconcile discrepancies. Ability to perform arithmetic operations involving all United States monetary units (add and subtract, multiply and divide) including the ability to reason through complex variance. Prepare and distribute daily cash bags to various departments as needed. Ensure the safe and secure storage of cash in compliance with company policies. Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile all cash-handling activities at the beginning and end of each shift. Generate daily & weekly cash reports for management review. Investigate and resolve any cash discrepancies with Department and HR Director. Compliance and Security: Adhere to all internal cash-handling procedures and protocols. Maintain the confidentiality of financial information and transactions. Monitor and report any suspicious activity or discrepancies to management. Support Operations: Assist with auditing point-of-sale (POS) transactions for accuracy. Collaborate with departments to ensure cash needs are met during operations. Provide occasional support for special events and peak operational times. Other Duties: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cash room. Perform other administrative or operational tasks as assigned by View Boston management.QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Previous experience in cash-handling, bookkeeping, or retail operations preferred. Two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in a similar capacity. Familiarity with POS systems and financial reconciliation processes is a plus. Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality. Proficiency in basic math and financial reporting. Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to walk, stand or sit for extended periods of time. Comfortable working in a secure, enclosed environment. Must be fluent in the English language. Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.COMPENSATION
